A school district in California voted unanimously to defy the state’s pending COVID-19 vaccine mandate for students and staff.
The Board of Trustees of the Calaveras Unified School District, which is comprised of ten schools and serves more than 2,800 students, voted 5-0 not to “support, enforce or comply with” the mandate, which is still pending. The board announced its decision to parents via Facebook. The vote applies to both students and staff. San Francisco health officer says children 5-11 will be required to show proof of vaccination

Children ages 5-11 will soon be required to comply with San Francisco’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate in order to enter places such as restaurants or entertainment venues, according to a city official.
The San Francisco Department of Health and the UCSF Division of General Pediatrics held a town hall meeting on Tuesday in which they discussed the use of the vaccine for children ages 5-11, according to SFGATE. California In-N-Out Shut Down Permanently for Refusing to Check Customers’ Vaccination Status

An In-N-Out in Contra Costa County, California, has been shut down permanently for refusing to ask patrons for proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test within three days of dining in.
The fast-food branch was told to close indefinitely on Tuesday according to The Hill.
“The Pleasant Hill In-N-Out location received four citations in recent weeks and fines totaling $1,750, all for the same health order violation, before today’s action,” Contra Costa Environmental Health (CCEH) said in a statement.
The location was served with a notice of violation on Oct. 5, and subsequently fined $250 on Oct. 14 and $500 on Oct. 19, a spokesperson for Contra Costa County’s health department told SFGate, adding that the In-N-Out faced “repeated complaints from members of the public.”… (Excerpts from the Epoch Times)

Los Angeles Passes One of the Strictest US COVID-19 Vaccination Mandates

The Los Angeles City Council on Oct. 6 approved one of the strictest COVID-19 vaccination mandates in the country, requiring proof of vaccination to enter indoor restaurants, movie theaters, salons, shopping centers, and many more indoor venues.
People will have to provide vaccination proof at gyms, sports arenas, museums, spas, indoor government facilities, malls, restaurants, and bars. For people with religious or medical exemptions, negative COVID-19 tests within 72 hours of entry will be required, according to the ordinance, which doesn’t make mention of “natural immunity” afforded by a previous COVID-19 infection… (Excerpts from the Epoch Times)

LAPD Employees File Federal Lawsuit Against City Over Vaccine Mandate

A group of six employees with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) filed a lawsuit in federal court against the city on Sept. 11, claiming that the city’s mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy violates their rights.
The lawsuit challenges both the city’s mandate and LAPD’s alleged failure to provide a process to submit requests for medical or religious exemptions. Californians Protest Forced Vaccinations of Police

Almost 100 people gathered in front of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) headquarters on Sept. 8 to protest the government’s policy of forcing frontline officers, such as police officers and healthcare workers, to be vaccinated against the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus.
California over the past few months has continuously attempted to implement a mandatory vaccine policy. On Aug. 5, California Department of Public Health officials demanded that all healthcare workers be fully vaccinated by Sept. 30, leading to the protest of hundreds of healthcare workers.
At the local government level, the Los Angeles City Council passed a mandatory policy on Aug. 18 requiring all employees, including those of the Police and Fire Departments, to be fully vaccinated by early October, except for those who had obtained exemptions…. (Excerpts from the Epoch Times)
