North Dakota Bans Critical Race Theory in Public Schools, Requires ‘Factual, Objective’ Curriculum
North Dakota | November 14, 2021
North Dakota has become the latest state to ban critical race theory (CRT) from being taught in public school classrooms.
On Friday Gov. Doug Burgum, a Republican, signed into law House Bill 1508, a day after the one-page bill overwhelmingly cleared both chambers of the Republican-majority state legislature. Proponents of the ban said this legislative effort was based on the demands of concerned parents.
“Our parents are seeing these types of ideas, these types of concepts in critical race theory being brought home by their children,” said Republican state Rep. Jim Kasper, one of the bill’s sponsors, reported The Bismarck Tribune… (Excerpts from the Epoch Times)

MIT Alumni Condemn School, Say Woke Demands Are ‘Damaging’ Reputation
Massachusetts | November 12, 2021
Two Massachusetts Institute of Technology graduates have taken issue with their alma mater’s recent moves to become more woke, saying the decisions are “damaging” to the school and its commitment to academic freedom.
The two graduates, Tom Hafer and Henry I. Miller, wrote an op-ed for the City Journal earlier this month calling out the prestigious university’s turn to wokeness.
“We graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology more than 50 years ago. MIT was academically rigorous, and it taught us our crafts and the essence of problem-solving, enabling us to thrive in our careers. We owe much to our alma mater and have donated to it regularly,” the graduates began. “No more.”…(Excerpts from the Daily Wire)

New Hampshire School Boards Association Leaves National Organization Over Parent Controversy
New Hampshire | October 30, 2021
The New Hampshire School Boards Association (NHSBA) announced Thursday that it has withdrawn from the national organization following the group’s efforts to target parents.
The National School Board Association (NSBA) recently sent a letter to the Biden administration’s Department of Justice that described the actions of parents protesting policies such as critical race theory or COVID-19 rules as the equivalence of “domestic terrorism.”
“This email is to inform you that NHSBA [the New Hampshire School Board Association] has decided to withdraw its membership from the National School Boards Association, effective immediately,” NHSBA Executive Director Barrett Christina wrote. “NSBA’s recent actions have made our continued membership untenable.
The NSBA wrote Sept. 29 (pdf), “America’s public schools and its education leaders are under an immediate threat.”… (Excerpts from the Epoch Times)
