Poll: Hispanic Approval of Biden’s Border Response Lower than Rest of America
Texas | April 16, 2021
Overall, only 29 percent of Americans say they approve of Biden’s handling of the pandemonium occurring at the border. Even lower, just 27 percent of Hispanics approve and 25 percent of whites. A majority—56 percent of black Americans—support Biden’s response to the crisis.
A recent report from the Washington Post reveals border crossings reached a 15-year high in March:
More than 171,000 migrants were taken into custody along the U.S. southern border in March, the highest monthly total since 2006, according to preliminary U.S. Customs and Border Protection data reviewed by The Washington Post.
The extraordinary increase — up from 78,442 in January — underscores the magnitude of the challenge facing the Biden administration, especially as it races to add emergency shelter capacity for an unprecedented number of teenagers and children crossing without their parents. Numerous tragedies have been reported at the border in recent months, including the fact that a 6-month-old baby had to be pulled from the Rio Grande River by border agents after human traffickers tossed the child into the waters….

Texas Legislature Holds Hearings on Sex Change Procedures for Kids
Texas | April 14, 2021
Two bills aimed at banning sex-change procedures for children made their way onto the schedule of the State Affairs Committee of the Texas Senate today. Both would ban drugs or surgeries to change a child’s sex, though each bill takes a different approach with regards to enforcement. Before a time of impassioned citizen testimony, the committee heard from the father of a purportedly transgender child named James Younger as well as a psychologist and an Austin-based researcher. Jeff Younger, whose son James became the center of a politicized custody battle after his mother alleged that he identified as a girl named Luna, testified that the current legal environment in Texas enables easy gender transitions for children.
“Without my consent, my ex-wife just transitioned my son to a girl… It’s very easy under these current protocols for children to fall into this,” Jeff said….

Anti-Transgender Legislation Surging in States
Arkansas, Michigan, South Carolina, Texas | April 13, 2021
The possibility that the Equality Act which was introduced, as H.R. 5 may pass Congress, has caused many state legislatures to respond and pass legislation to create legal protections for their state constituents.
Most recently, the Arkansas General Assembly passed HB 1570, the Save Adolescents From Experimentation (SAFE) Act and was adopted into law recently after overriding Governor Asa Hutchinson’s veto.
In 2020,19 state bills were introduced to protect the vulnerable from gender experimentation and many more bills protecting children from the transgender rights lobby have been introduced in the 2021 legislative sessions of several states.
Texas introduced SB 1311 and Michigan SB 218 which are among bills broadly labeled SAFE Act bills or gender reassignment bills address the following three concerns according to the Family Research Council:
- “Gender transition” is an experiment; no “treatment” can change a person’s genetic composition, and no studies have demonstrated long-term benefits.
- The government should not force taxpayers to fund it, insurers to cover it, or children to be subjected to it.
- The SAFE Act would provide legal remedies for minors who have been permanently disfigured and/or sterilized.
Most recently, a South Carolina Democrat, state Rep. Cezar McKnight, introduced the “South Carolina Vulnerable Child Compassion and Protection Act”. This measure would ban minors from being able to receive transgender surgeries or medical treatments.
The bill states in part: “…no person shall engage in, counsel, make a referral for, or cause any of the following practices to be performed upon a minor if the practice is performed for the purpose of attempting to alter the appearance of or affirm the minor’s perception of the minor’s gender or sex…”

Texas Representative Dan Crenshaw (R) is requesting prayers after he received emergency eye surgery, CBN News reports. Crenshaw shared that he initially went to the doctor after he noticed strange black spots in his vision. From there, doctors reportedly discovered that his retina was separating from his existing eye.
In a press release posted to Twitter, Crenshaw wrote, “A few days ago, I noticed some dark, blurry spots in my vision. I went to get this checked out by an ophthalmologist on Thursday, and they discovered that my retina was detaching. This is a terrifying prognosis for someone with one eye and the nature of the injuries I sustained in Afghanistan.”….

Republican House Judiciary Members Witnessed Border Crisis
Ohio, Texas | April 11, 2021
McALLEN, Texas — Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) led several Republican members of the House Judiciary Committee on a two-day visit to McAllen this week where they witnessed the ongoing border crisis, and all the members — as they recapped their visit — said the Biden administration was at fault for surging numbers of illegal migrants.
Border Patrol agents apprehended nearly 170,000 migrants crossing the southern border illegally in March, a 72 percent increase from February. As Breitbart News reported, in the first two full months of President Joe Biden’s time in office, February and March, apprehensions were at a combined total of nearly 210,000, while in the last four months of former President Donald Trump’s tenure, apprehensions were at a combined total of just over 280,000.
Jordan, the ranking Republican member on the Judiciary Committee, gathered from speaking with Border Patrol agents that the Trump-era Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) program, also known as Remain in Mexico — which Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) suspended on his first day as president — is imperative to reinstate as a first step in controlling the migrant influx….

The border crisis is “out of control,” House Minority Whip Steve Scalise said in a video shot as a group of more than 100 illegal immigrants trooped across the border.
